Our team uses the PTV Vision software package for traffic modelling and one segment of this package are VISUM and VISSIM software. 

VISUM is a platform which is primarily dedicated to traffic planning (macro simulation). The network structure for passenger, freight and public transport may be modelled to a very high level of details.

VISUM is applied in traffic planning to determine the demand per transport mode, user, travel purpose and travel time.

VISSIM is a software program for micro simulation of traffic flows. Up to date, it has been used for the modelling of practically every segment of the traffic network, from simple, isolated intersections with all types of control (a fixed regime of operation, detector regime of operation, unsignalized intersections) to complex corridors controlled by signalled intersections in the coordinated regime of operation and modelling of open and closed parking spaces, modelling of Intelligent Transport Systems, etc.
   
One of output results of the micro simulation which is used for the presentation is 3D animation. VISSIM is extremely important for a detailed analysis of the Preliminary Design, Main Designs, Justifiability Studies and As-Built Designs.
